Just for Today

With just a few weeks into the New Year I wanted to remind you it is a chance for new beginnings, an
opportunity to be done with destructive old habits. A wonderful time to create healthy new ones. I would like to share bits and pieces from a list of New Year’s resolutions that were adapted by Pauline Phillips, fromafg 2 the original credo of Al-Anon.

Just for Today: I will live through this day only. I will not brood about yesterday or obsess about tomorrow. I will not set far-reaching goals or try to overcome all of my problems at once.

Just for Today: I will be happy. I will not dwell on thoughts that depress me.

Just for Today: I will accept what is. I will face reality.

Just for Today: I will improve my mind. I will read something that requires effort, thought and concentration.

Just for Today: I will be kind and courteous to those that cross my path, and not speak ill of others.

Just for Today: I will only work on improving myself.

Just for Today: I will do something positive to improve one aspect of my life.

Just for Today: I will gather up courage to do what is right and take responsibility for my own actions.

When I read this quick list on January 1st it reminded me to stay on track and not take on more than necessary on any one given day. After all I know that I can hang in for 24 hours doing any one of the above. I am sure you can to. Let’s lift our thoughts to ….. Just for Today!  Let me know how you did by leaving a comment below.
