I made LOTS of friends at the 2nd Annual WALK A MILE IN HER SHOES event on Saturday May 3rd 2014 in Fairfield, CT. This is a walk to spread awareness of the problem of domestic abuse, to put a stop to sexual assault and violence against women.
It’s all part of the White Ribbon Campaign – a different approach to combating violence against women which involves not only teaching women how not to be victims, but also educating MEN and BOYS how not to be perpetrators. Of course awareness is the first and most important step. Lots of that was raised at this very special event, in addition to money to help fund programs like those offered at the Center for Family Justice.
I’m going to work on bringing this event to Southington, CT next! Check out the images below….

Casey with Fairfield Police Chief Gary MacNamara. The event was co-sponsored by the Fairfield Police and the Center for Family Justice.

Chief Gary was one of many men who quite literally walked a mile in HER SHOES. Those high heeled sandals looked GREAT with black socks!

This guy got a little carried away …. he even painted his toenails red. It’s all for a good cause… and great prizes!
Casey’s friend Don provided the transportation to the event and took lots of photos and video. Thank You!

Prizes were awarded for the teams and individuals who showed the most spirit and raised the most money.
