Helping Get SAFE Cosmetics Into the Hands of Everyone

I have always been fascinated by how people attract other people. How does your brain, or maybe your heart, know that a person in the room is the person you are supposed to talk to? So putting my faith in my brain, my heart, and the universe, I decided that I need to meet some new people. So off I go to a brand

Beauty Counter

new networking group, found only by my crazy (possibly unhealthy) obsession with Facebook. A group that meets nearly an hour from my home at a banquet facility I have never heard of, called In the Loop in Plainville. After chatting with a few other women in the room, I meet Casey. Actually, I first meet Casey’s editor, Nancy, who introduced me to Casey. And after just a few short minutes, I know that Casey and I have A LOT in common. She began to explain what she has been doing – catching me first with the facts and repercussions of Canidida. How she is helping clients become healthy by cleansing toxins and this great foot bath system that really intrigues me. Her passion for helping people really resonates with me and why I do what I do as well.

Did you know…..

  • There are about 10,000 chemicals commonly found in personal care products, only 10% of those have ever been tested for safety.

  • The US has not passed a federal law regulating ingredients used in personal care products since 1938.

  • Europe has spent the past 2 decades banning or restricting more than 1,300 ingredients –the US has only banned 11 to date.

  • Products that are sold and used every day are allowed to contain ingredients linked to breast cancer, infertility, cell damage, learning disabilities and more.

  • 1 in 3 women, and 1 in 2 men will be diagnosed with cancer at some point in their lifetime.

  • 1 in 3 children are diagnosed with Autism, ADD, ADHD or Asthma

A year ago, I found a company called Beautycounter. A company dedicated to changing the personal care industry while offering safe, NON TOXIC, effecting products for the whole family. Something I didn’t even think about until after my son was born. Now that he is 2 ½, I am a label reader, a researcher, and an activist, because his health matters, my health matters, and so does yours.

beautycounter-the_complete_collection-195x195_1At Beautycounter, we have banned more than 1,500 ingredients — the 1300 from Europe, the 11 from the US, and then added some of our own that we just don’t trust. This, and our intensive ingredient selection process, sets a new standard for health and safety in the personal care industry. Our mission is to get safe products into the hands of everyone. To that end, we have created 2 skin care lines, a body care line, a kid’s line, a collection of lip sheers, and just released 2 sunscreen products for the whole family.

But Beautycounter doesn’t end with the products. We feel that the facts above and the safety standards in this country are unacceptable. So we are doing something about it. For every client and member signed up, $10 is donated to one of 3 trusted non-profit groups working to change the regulations in the US. Those groups are: The Environmental Working Group, The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics, and Healthy Child, Healthy World.

My life has changed in the past year working with this company. Not only am I able to provide these amazing products to people, but I also get to be out meeting new people in the industry of helping others. I look forward to working more with Casey and even getting to experience her foot bath and detox programs!

Thank you!
